Top 3 reasons why you'll want to stay with us
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is just a short drive away and is one of New Zealand’s best one-day hikes.
We have on-site shuttles to transfer you to and from the Crossing with several pick up and drop off times. We have a range of accommodation options, from campervan and tent sites, cabins, a self-contained cabin and a 32-bed lodge suitable for family, schools, friends or work or hiking groups.
Whakapapa Holiday Park is popular with skiers, snowboarders and snow players with the ski field just 6kms up the road.
At the ski field you can take the Sky Waka to New Zealand’s highest café and enjoy some panoramic views with your coffee. Or hike up Skyline track for even more amazing views.
If snow sports or hiking is not your thing then mountain biking, river rafting, trout fishing, canoeing and other outdoor activities are all just a short drive away.
The holiday park is located in the heart of the Tongariro National Park, a special place with dual World Heritage status. Firstly for it’s cultural and spiritual significance with local iwi, Tūwharetoa, and secondly for it’s outstanding volcanic and physical features and history.
