Covid-19 Policy

Our Commitment

Tēnā koutou katoa - Greetings to you all,

We are entering another busy summer where we wish to ensure that everyone can feel safe.

On 3 December 2021, Aotearoa moved into the COVID-19 Protection Framework, or traffic light system.

Now, My Vaccine Passes WILL BE REQUIRED for all persons aged 12+ when staying in our campground. All customers, staff members, and contractors will require a valid Vaccine Pass. Unfortunately, there will be no exceptions granted.

This decision has not been taken lightly. It is important we adopt the framework so we can remain open and keep you all safe. The protection of our customers, the health and safety of our staff members, and the ability to provide greater resilience against business disruption are fundamental basics.

WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE

Proof of NZ Government Digital Vaccination Certificate

The Reservation Holder will be required to show vaccination certificates for all eligible guests in their booking party. We expect the following approach to be adopted:

Proof of full vaccination for all guests 12 years+ must be sent 5 days prior to booking. This can also include proof from “my covid record” app.

During the period of the stay, a guest might be requested by a member of the Whakapapa Holiday Park team to scan their certificate.

We therefore request that the Reservation Holder advises all members of their party to be fully cooperative with us within this process.

Please be assured that any information provided will remain private and secure.

Vaccination Certificate Requirements

As per the NZ Government’s COVID-19 Protection Framework, Whakapapa Holiday Park will operate a “No Vax + No Vaccination Certificate = No Stay” policy for all guests, visitors, staff and contractors aged over 12 years.

The reservation holder is responsible to ensure the entire group in the booking is fully vaccinated. The reservation holder must provide the required proof of NZ Government Digital Vaccination Certificates for all guests in their group prior to their stay. This is non-negotiable.

Children under the age of 12 years old at the time of their visit will not be required to show proof of vaccination. If a guest, visitor, staff member, or contractor aged 12 years and over, is unable to get a vaccination for medical reasons, they will be required to show proof of their government approved exemption. Exemption once granted can be held on the vaccine pass app. Doctors letters will not be accepted.

In addition to the health and safety risks, we respectfully ask all people intending to come to our Park, to understand that non-compliance of NZ Government Covid Regulations may result in our business incurring extensive fines. Your honesty and co-operation will ensure that we can make the most of summer.

Covid-19 Cancellation Policy due to travel restrictions

For existing bookings that cannot proceed due to NZ Government imposed Covid-19 domestic travel restrictions, we will be happy to credit the full amount to your account, rebook you on another suitable date or alternatively, we can provide a refund. We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible of any cancellations.

This policy only comes into force when the NZ Government notifies of a travel restriction that affects your travel dates.

If you change dates, the rates for the “new” period apply, so there may be a deficit or a credit. We can advise of any differences in price before you make any changes.

This does not cover an event cancellation or an unfavourable weather forecast.

Please find the latest domestic travel information here.
