Transport & Activities |
Please ask at our office for transport information to local attractions and to book Activities. Hut tickets can also be purchased at our office. |
| Smoking |
For the comfort of all guests please do not smoke in the Lodge, Cabins or Kitchen area. Please dispose of butts in containers provided. No smoking anywhere indoors. |
| Pets |
As Whakapapa Holiday Park is situated in ‘Tongariro National Park’ pets are NOT permitted. Fines apply. The only exceptions are Guide Dogs and Mountain Rescue Dogs for which a permit must be carried. |
| Fires |
Open Fires are not permitted in the National Park - Large fines apply. |
| Kitchen |
Is ‘CLOSED’ for cleaning between 10.00 am-12.00 pm daily. Dirty footwear/boots to be removed. |
| Laundry |
Is situated in the main amenities block. The machines take $1 & $2 coins. It costs $2 for a Wash and $2 for approx. 15mins in the Dryer. Washing powder can be purchased from the shop |
| Drying Room |
Is located to the rear of the laundry (slide the door to open). We advise guests not to leave belongings in the drying room overnight. Management does not take responsibility for stolen or lost items. |
| Pay Phone |
A public pay phone is located in the foyer of the main amenities building, outside the kitchen. Phone cards can be purchased from the shop |
| Recycling |
Please recycle your waste using the appropriate facilities provided. |
| Alarms & Evacuation |
The alarm for any Volcanic warning is a loud spoken voice advising of the situation. The assembly point for a volcanic evacuation is at the ‘Skotel’.
The local firebrigade use an ‘Air raid’ style siren to summon their staff for call outs,there is no voice in this alarm. |
| BBQ |
An electric BBQ is available outside the kitchen. The BBQ master switch is on the outside wall of the amenities building, turn this on then press the “GREEN” button on the BBQ door for 20 mins of power. Please turn off the Master switch & clean after use. |
| Internet |
We have two internet terminals which are located in the communal kitchen. The terminals take $2 & $1 coins. The Kitchen is also a Wireless Internet area. Rates are $8 per hour |
